This and that
By: Houssem | October 3rd, 2008Some of you may have noticed the latest IFFHS club world ranking, where Étoile made it back to position 64, thus being the top position among african clubs. It may not be an official FIFA ranking, but it’s good to get some recognition, and especially to be considered “better” than Nigeria’s Enyimba International FC, Zimbabwe’s Dyanamos FC, Egypt’s Al Ahly & Zamalek, or Sudan’s Al Merrikh. The next weeks will hopefully prove this ranking right if we proceed to the CAF Confederation Cup final and win the trophy.
Three ESS players have been retained by national trainer Humberto Coelho on the 23 player list for Tunisia’s upcoming games against Seychelles (2010 WC and CAN qualifiers, october 11th) and France (friendly, october 14th) : goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi, center back Ammar Jemal, and allround-midfielder Mohamed Ali Nafkha. I wouldn’t have had nothing against seeing Mejdi Mosrati with the Carthage Eagles, and still can’t understand to see Radhouène Felhi team up with Jemal in defense, but I’m sure the coach has his reasons, and Rami will certainly provide a few answers in his Tunisia WC Blog.
