Official : Gilson Silva to EA Guingamp

By: Houssem | August 12th, 2008

According to the Sousse-based radio station Jawhara FM, Gilson Silva has left for France yesterday, and will be submitted to a medical test today. He will be joining our former midfielder Muri Ogunbiyi. Ligue 2 side EA Guingamp and Étoile have agreed on a one-year loan (what’s with chairman Driss and loans?). I have mixed feelings about this transfer, since Gilson is definitely a valuable asset when he’s on a good day, but lately we haven’t seen much of his deadly through passes. His dribbling never got him far anyway, and as many of you may have noticed, his performance on Saturday was dominated by over-confidence and reluctance to even notice where his teammates are standing.
So good bye Gilson and all the best to you.

Aya mabrouk to Gilson then. The last time I saw him play very well was the African Supercup against Sfax. Funnily enough thats the picture you have up.

Highlights of Gilson Silva in that game:

Farewell & thanks Gilson! You were one of our favorites.
I will never forget his performance against EST in Sousse at the 06-07 season and his third goal.

I’m Happy to see him go abroad. It’s better for both sides. Thank you Gilson…

to Yassine: His 3rd goal for the 3-1 against EST is always in my mind (back defend. lobe + reprise instantanée) : Brilliant!!
